Filtration
The filtration on most pools will consist of a sand filter and circulating pump connected to the pool via pipes from the pool shell fittings. All are sized accordingly to allow the correct flow rates to and from the pool.
Heating
The heating of the pool presents several options:
- Oil or gas fired pool boiler which incorporates the heat exchanger, allowing connection of pool circulation pipes direct.
- Oil or gas boiler domestic/commercial with primary kit connected to a separate pool heat exchanger.
- Heat pump which draws warmth and humidity from the air and transfer to the pool direct.
- Electric element heater thermostatically controlled pool water pipes which connect direct.
- Solar panel heating - indirect or direct.
Lighting
There are different choices in pool lighting such as underwater flood type lights or fibre optic options.
Water Quality
To help achieve good water quality there is the option of having automated dosing systems keeping a constant check on the water balance and introducing the required chemicals when appropriate. Ultra violet light is also available and can assist to keep the sanitization level at a minimum.
Pool Covers
A solar cover is important. As well as introducing heat to the pool from the suns rays, it will also retain heat in the pool during cold days and nights.
A winter cover is another essential in keeping the pool covered in the worst of the winter months.
